Tucked away between the Beckley/Raleigh County Health Department (formerly known as the Eleanor Hurt Health Clinic) and the Veterans of all Wars Museum on Harper Road sits the Beckley/Raleigh County WIC Clinic. Although small in dimension, this WIC site handles the largest number of WIC customers in the southern part of the state.
Participants and children alike enjoy a visit to the clinic.
The play area allows space for toddlers to interact and play with other children. Parents have opportunities as well, as they can sit back and enjoy an informative video on their well-being and nutrition while they wait to be seen in the clinic.
The Beckley Clinic attempts to answer all needs of its participants, whether it be advice about diet, formula changes, or other helpful social services.
We have expanded the program to include literacy by providing free books at the child's birthday and reading sessions.
We also provide information about fruits and vegetables, the inclusion of calcium, proteins and carbohydrates into the diet, as well as a list of iron rich foods to enhance hemoglobin readings.
The WIC program at the Beckley/Raleigh County Clinic eagerly invites all who qualify for the program and hope that in some way, we can be instrumental in improving your family's lives, nutritionally and psychologically. We believe that WIC improves lives and helps provide a better future for the children.

To locate the entrance to the WIC office, if you are traveling into Harrisville from the direction of Route 50, turn left at the intersection of W. Main Street and State Route 31, and then immediately turn right onto the alley beside the Harrisville Baptist Church.

The Summers County WIC Program is located in the historic downtown area of Hinton, WV. Several community service organizations are conveniently close by and within walking distance; DHHR, REACH, CASE, as well as the post office, library, chamber of commerce and the county courthouse complex.
As one of the smaller WIC sites, we are open on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and make every attempt to be as flexible as we can with appointment scheduling to meet the needs of our participants. We welcome walk-ins and can usually see new clients the same week of an appointment request. The Wood County WIC office is located on the second floor of the Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department at 211 6th Street in Parkersburg, WV. The building is located just across the street from the parking garage, which offers convenient parking . The parking garage has a elevator in order to accommodate specials needs like a handicap, stroller or wheelchair. The parking price is $1.00 an hour.
The WIC office is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, and from 8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday in order to accommodate working families.
