Minimum Stock Levels

Minimum Stock Requirements

Effective October 1, 2014, these minimum stock levels are required of all authorized and applicant grocery vendors. An inability to obtain or continue to stock these minimum amounts and minimum varieties in any category at the store site may result in application denial, or in the case of authorized grocery vendors, sanctions point assessments. Refer to WV WIC Approved Shopping Guide for approved foods and approved packaging sizes. During the on-site inspection performed as part of the application or reauthorization process, or during routine monitoring, a State WIC representative will check your stock levels to ensure these minimum levels are present on the date of review. Do not return the application until the store has all of the stock indicated on the minimum stock grid.

Contract Infant formula**: Vendors must have all five (5) brands: Similac Advance Early Shield, Similac Sensitive For Fussiness and Gas and Similac Sensitive for Spit Up (powder and/or RTF) Similac Total Comfort (12.6 oz. Powder Only) AND Enfamil Prosobee Soy (concentrate, RTF and/or powder)

**only contract formula is counted toward minimum stocking requirements

Thirty Six (36) Containers

Infant Cereal: Two (2) varieties (flavors) of WV WIC Approved Gerber Infant Cereal Six (6) - 8 oz. Boxes
Infant Fruits: Single ingredient or combinations of single ingredient (ex. apple-banana) fruit without added sugars, starches, or salt (sodium)

Infant Fruit; 2 types

Twenty (20) - 4 oz. Jars

Infant Vegetables: Single ingredient or combinations of single ingredient (ex. peas and carrots) vegetables without added sugars, starches, or salt (sodium)

Infant Vegetables; 2 types

Twenty (20) - 4 oz. Jars

Infant Meats: Infant food meat or poultry, with added broth or gravy without added sugars or salt (sodium)

Milk: Two (2) varieties (by fat content) of WV WIC Approved Milk Eight (8) Gallons
Cheese: Two (2) varieties (types) of WV WIC Approved Cheese in one pound packages Four (4) Pounds
Eggs: Grade A Large White ONLY Four (4) Dozen
Cereal: Three (3) varieties (brands) of WV WIC Approved Cereal Twelve (12) Boxes
Juice: Two (2) varieties (flavors) of WV WIC Approved Juice in any combination of 64 oz. containers Four (4) - 64 oz. Containers
